Shopping for Insurance

The driver.
That sounds like it should work like that but, I had a situation where the other guy didn't have enough coverage to pay the claim for damage. He got a good deal on cheap insurance, like everyone thinks they have. In New Jersey you only have to have $5000 in property damage coverage to get a License plate. My damage, was twice that amount. Being it was a vehicle, I have to have uninsured / underinsured protection. I don't see how that would work with a building or house?. Or, if someone drives a stolen vehicle into your property. I believe the car or trucks owners insurance, does not provide coverage if the vehicle is used in the commision of a crime. Trying to sue people is mostly a waste of time. If they have nothing, you get nothing.,,

Homeowners doubled even after shopping around last year, stayed exactly the same this year. Don't know what the 2 autos rate are gonna do yet. FEMA Flood limited to (only!!) 18% a year. And they do...

I had this conversation with an insurance agent in Florida last week. Their auto insurance rates are in my opinion insane! He explained to me why. Approximately 40% of the drivers in Florida either have no insurance or are driving around with the minimum amount of coverage. That's where uninsured/under insured coverage comes in. Some [pick an appropriate word/name, I have plenty several are not ready for prime time] crashes into me, and God Forbid leaves me permanently disabled and he/she has nothing I'm SOL. Uninsured/under insured coverage protects me from someone who IMO shouldn't be allowed the privilege of driving. It drives the cost of insurance up. As you said if they have nothing, you get nothing! Flame suit on!!!!
