0w-30 users post here!

Our Dakota(4.7) we bought new in 2004 and has seen only 0w30 Amsoil since the 3000 mark. I believe it was even labeled Series 2000(?) back then. Many cold starts and towing in that time and no leaks and runs strong still to this day. It'll be one of the best running trucks at the junk yard as Wisconsin winters have been hard on the rest of it.

Op, use the 0w30 with confidence. That's still a pretty low Noack IMO.

We have blizzard conditions today and very cold temps coming. Wednesday is a high of -10f and a low of -24f.

Bought it on Amazon, they periodically have it on there for a great price. Right now however, it is insanely expensive:

Maybe if you still have it and don't have anything to run it in by April, I could buy half a case of you? I don't have any money left in my maintenance budget for a couple months, going on a trip to Cuba end of March but I will need to change the oil in my Oldsmobile when I pull it out of storage in April.

Comparing the 0w30 M1 AFE to 5w30 EP, the specs are very close. Any reason to go with the AFE over the EP?

IMO, cost does it for me. I'm gonna put M1 0w30 AFE in soon

My first reply went into limbo.

Thanks Adam. I knew the EP was a couple or so $$ more. The AFE is a great looking oil and I like the idea of a 0w30.

I just started using Mobil 1 AFE 0w30 last year in the Jeep GC 3.6 and the RAM Hemi 5.7. Both call for 5w20 but can also use 5w30 so I split the difference a little and went with 0w30 lol. I am happy with it.
