I used Castrol green 0W30 for more than a decade...but my inventory eventually ran out.

AMSOIL Signature Series 0w30 in 2018 Taurus 3.5 Duratec. And I sleep well at night.
I used Redline 0w-30. I'll have a 10k mile UOA in the next few weeks hopefully.

I have an entire case of Motul 0w30 that I don't even know what to run it in, lol. The Expedition was my 0w30 mule before, but jeep takes 0w-40 and the truck 5w-40.

I run 0w30 Amsoil in my `18 4Runner because that is my "DO ALL" vehicle. I figure ALL-terrain tires and 0w30 oil that can handle the most extreme cold and the heat as well. (running the 30wt over the recommended 20wt)
Other viscosity oil would work, but this is a oil that can truly DO ALL.

Very excited, I've never used 0w-ANYTHING before. Anyone else use 0w-30, and in what? My only concern is Noack volatility % being higher in 0w-30... But it's already on it's way and will be installed in both vehicles as soon as it shows up, so there's no turning back now!

Sometimes it is not where you live, it is where you are traveling to that may be crazy cold. Having a 0w oil in the engine is comforting when you start on a cold morning, like -20 f and praying it starts, because if it doesn't you know your screwed.

Castrol EDGE 0w30 (A3/B4 black bottle) is where it's at... if you can find it for a decent price. Currently going for $9-10 per quart, but occasionally (like once per year) AAP has it for $5.50 a quart.
Having said that, is it necessary? Not really. 5w30 works just about everywhere in the lower 48.

Seems you have to know exactly what the stuff is worth elsewhere if you shop on Amazon because they seem to have a lot of rip off prices in the oil section. I had a couple gift cards so I was browsing there recently.

I always compare Amazon prices with Ebay (not oil). Sometimes Amazon is "out there".

My metric is if it is cheaper than CDN tire on sale, then it's a good deal. If it isn't, I'll just buy it at CT.

Just discovered the Motul 0w30 I picked up is labelled Vollsynthetisches, making it full synthetic in Germany, so it is PAO-based for sure. It's also API SL/CF.
