Yes -- Castrol is fine to use. So are all other name brands. If your budget can afford it, Schaeffer and Amsoil sponsors on this board would like your business too.

I've got an 07 1500 Z71 4x4 with the 5.3 flex fuel eng. and run either PP 10w-30 or Schaffers 7000 10w-30 w/AC delco or wix filter. Change oil/filter every 5k, even though my monthly reports from GM state to go "10K" between oil changes...
