    not if they settle to the bottom of the pan, and never get sucked up the pick up tube! Either way, the only benefit of the magnet in my opinion, is you can see the metal. otherwise it will go out in to the drain pan, or get stuck in the filter.

    I like the sounds of the delvac oil too! I think it is on top right now. I will start with some 10w 30/40 mineral oil for the break in, then go on to the delvac.

    sludge??

    It is not a flex fuel vehicle. It is an E*% vehicle now. I installed 40% larger injectors and a fuel controller to tune with. It was not tuned exactly right at first. It was rich as [censored] for a while. I had the head completely rebuilt 3500 miles ago, new valve seals. valve job, and resurfaced.

    this may or may not be oil related... But what causes the sludge on the top of the valves in the intake side of the head?     My father-in-law runs strait 30 year round here in Michigan. He is paranoid of VII. He has put well over 200,000 miles on several vehicles with it. He was a diesel mechanic years ago, when the VII were a problem.

    I got an oil pressure gauge! with mobile 1 5w-30 it has cold idle 55psi warm idle 23psi warm 3000rpm 63psi witch is more than most neon owners get! I am going to change the oil again it 500 miles to check for metal flakes again though.
