Diagnosis pls: A/C coming out of only some vents?

In most cases, the "valve" you speak of is called a "damper". I have many of them in our 8 year old home and they allow you to even or close off flow to individual areas/rooms.

    Ethanol is killing gas mileage

I have no problems running ethanol and more often than not, get better fuel economy with it. Now I've done plenty of driving and testing fuels. After all, I drive over 26K annually with my 2000 Chrysler 300M and if you add in my wife's driving with the same model vehicle (4 years newer), we're...

    Hot water heater

I've researched the subject of water heater maintenance in the past and on more than one occasion have been informed to drain the water heater. Either that be every 6 months or annually. Procedure http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/pl_water_heaters/article/0,,DIY_14194_2277696,00.htm

Please help me in interpreting this chart

My manual shows the 5W-30 & 10W-30 comparisons only. It suggests the usage of 5w for the coldest temperatures up to 100 degrees F. As for the 10W, temperatures starting at 0 to above 100 degrees F. I typically use 5W-30 all year round here in Illinois. Can easily get below 0 (especially with...

I want to buy a Torque Wrench.............

Reviews on the Sears website, in the past, has always shown negative reviews on the Craftsman torque wrenches at least for the ratcheting type. I've been wanting one myself for over a year now for torquing wheels. I have a cheapo swinging bar type that can be difficult to read when tightening a...

    Mobil1 response

PP & M1 EP are pretty equal in my book. See my comparative UOAs at the below link. Blackstone Quote Quote: We have found that brand doesn't really make much of a difference in how an engine wears -- it's mostly how you drive it, and how much metal it tends to make, that determines how long you...

Mobil 1 0W30 Green Cap, 6140 miles, Ecotec 2.2 HHR

FYI...Was home over the 4th of July holiday and my parents purchased a new HHR SS. The turbo Ecotec suggests the usage of Mobil 1. In the manual it states that you may find that the OLM to go longer than what you would think but not to go over a year OCI.

    PP Platinum or Amsoil?....

Don't get me wrong because I do use Amsoil products for my transmissions/differentials and I'm a preferred customer. But as for using their motor oils, it's most definitely cost effective to shop around. Not to mention, I feel more comfortable with two OCIs per year vs. one annual OCI. Image...

    2006 Toyota Tundra Mobil 1 EP 5W-30, 5,025 miles

Nice report....silicon seems a bit high for the mileage. About the same as what I usually find with my UOAs and I always get comments about it here and with Blackstone, but that's at 12K OCIs too. I'm using the K&N drop-in filter. Which filter are you using? If you don't plan on any longer OCIs...

    Dayco or Goodyear belts???

Gates is the way to go, IMHO. If you have a local O'Reilly's, that great. Otherwise I've been able to find Gates products much cheaper on RockAuto.com even after shipping.
