Turned on my HVAC last night on the first floor of the house.
Went to a different room & noticed it's a tad warmer than where I was prior of same floor.

Went to the vents & seem like little to zero air was blowing out.
Also 'seems' that it is isolated to only a couple of rooms. Not odor or anything.

Went back to other rooms & air is flowing cool & freely.

I changed my filters earlier in the spring so I wouldn't think it be something simple as that.

What could possibly cause this?
TIA

If your ductwork is like mine, each duct has a valve somewhere where it branches off. A valve may be in the closed position. You'll have to inspect the ductwork until you can bracket the problem.

Never heard of this in my 39 years of life.
But it's a newer house so God knows what they've put in.
Odd, that one day it's just flips off by itself...

Thanks for the hint!

In most cases, the "valve" you speak of is called a "damper". I have many of them in our 8 year old home and they allow you to even or close off flow to individual areas/rooms.

Where are these dampers usually located? Is it on the HVAC system itself? I close/open 1 switch for summer & winter per the builder's instruction but I don't recall any other switch.

Finally figured it out. Connected to my HVAC down in the basement. On one of the silver aluminum air duct work.

Apparently my father came over & flip it off (closed)

Of course the builder had label it closed for summer & open for winter. So he was following direction.

Now the question is why did they label it that way?
