Well after I did a google search on it and finally getting back to this forum I realize now that it is alot older than I expected...and no...I have no intention on using it in my MGB which was also free I might add "Ron AKA", I found your comment quite funny when I realized how I worded the...
I was digging through my father-inlwas garage and found some 20w-50 GTX in 1 litre cans that is has a SE-CC API rating. Any of you experts know how old this stuff is? Just curious really, I might use it in my 72 MGB since it was free.
BTW...some more info, there is two seperate requirements on...
I have a big stash of 5L jugs of GTX with a case of single quarts of havoline to top of the oil when I change it.You open up the Castrol and it smells like..well...what oil should smell like I guess, but the havoline really has a pungent odor to it. What gives? The add pack maybe!? Is it normal?
Trannys failing from a being chipped or tuned, that is some thing new to me considering all the guys I know that are running them in their gassers and diesels. I guess you could be correct if one was hauling heavy loads on a regular basis or racing there truck but in the long run if you change...
Have you ever considered to just chip it or put a tuner without the shift kit? Mines been "chipped" and I did notice quite a difference in the shifting points, it has become more stiffer and the rev points have increased. Just a thought considering the amount of money it will take with the kit...
I ran a 5w30 Castrol Syntec bend for the good old Canadian winters and Rotella dino in the summer, never had a problem with it....but as stated before, these 300's will run forever regardless of what old you put in there.
Is there any proof one dino works better than the other? I have an extensive stash of 5w20 GTX and I totally forgot that there was 6 quarts of Havoline 5w30 sittin in the back shelf, I still have quite a while in before the rinse cycle (finally the shipment came in Yaaaa!), what are your...
I am not too sure if my engine design (5.4l modular) are prone to sludging, more or less this is a preventative measure and to ensure a good running motor. I am currently using a MC filter which i know is a great product and have quite the extensive stash of Castrol GTX in my garage so looks...
Site said to put a new one in, am i OK with a filter with only 250kms on it? Sounds like this stuff is going to loosen up alot of debris, anyone had a filter plug up?
QUOTE]Seems to me the 4.6 doesn't come with 3 valves in the F150. I do remember saying the 5.4 was good. But if you think that 4.6 has torque you don't know what torque is. Look at the intake manifold on that thing. They try and compensate for that lack of torque with those giagantic runners to...
I have had nothing but Ford trucks and they all served me well, I don't know what Huhwhye was talking about lack of torque, these modular motors have loads of it at low rpms espesially with the 3 valve ones. Now if you are talking about the v6's, I would agree the Toyota is the way to go, and...
