The filter can be easily replaced, if you can get the pan off.Mine Iwas impossable to remove unless the exhaust was removed. I sucked the fluid out of the fill tube.You can sneak the filter out buy removing the pan bolts and dropping the front of pan.Some fluid does remain in the pan.I reused...

I have run castrol 75-90 in my g80 locker for 60000 mi under harsh conditions no problems . I refuse to pay 30 $ a qt. My dealer refills difs with the castrol.this is the synthetic.

I have used castrol gtx 5w30/10w30 in mt 99 tahoe 5.7l for 130k miles. It runs like new, cmopression exl.oil use ,almost none. Hauled an rv trailer 90kk of those miles.More than pleased with GTX.
