I have been told that the STP made today is much lower in zinc/phos then it used to be, I just would not use it. If you do not want to use ZDDPlus just buy Schaffers or Redline, etc... Many oils that you can use that have higher zinc/phos levels.

I have a case of Wix racing filters and they say built in USA.

Diesel oil is fine for diesel engines but it has to much detergent for most gas engines. I also do not like using a full synthetic oil in my classic/muscle cars. I am trying using high mileage semi syn Maxlife and will see how it works. I will also add some ZDDPLUS.

I totally agree with Charlie on only using half a bottle of ZDDPLUS. Someone at the Boss forum tested oil with different amounts of ZDDPLUS and mentioned that half a bottle would be enough for any 700-800PPM oil. It raised it up to like 1500-1700PPM.

Maxlife has worked well in my cars. Never really noticed any MPG decrease.

Good luck. All I know is that many friends and myself have a lot of money tide up in our classic cars and would NEVER short our cars when it comes to the quality of oil/ZDDP. With your vette, I would just use whatever oil and add a bottle of ZDDPlus. Quick and easy...

Sorry about the confusion but I was asking about GM's Camshaft and Prelube not the EOS. I have a lot of the EOS but was curious about the Prelube in a 4OZ bottle... Like I said I will get some tested. Trust me I have a large collection of old Muscle cars and know all about ZDDP and Moly, etc.

I guess no one really knows what is in this stuff. Maybe, I will send some in for testing. I really do not want to guess if it has ZDDP or not. I assume it does but we all know where that can get you. LOL.
