GC is thicker at 212 degrees but still has cold cranking specs of -35 degrees. Pour point of -78 degrees. I started my truck the otherday when it was -18F with no problems. ON the bottle it says unaided engine starts at -40F

Probably wouldnt hurt, I would have just used cheap dino for the first 5,000 miles and then go synthetic, I guess it only takes a couple of quarts.

5w40 is synthetic, It almost has to be to have a 35 point spread.

two cycle oil is mainly solvents, not much for zinc of other EP additives.

If you dont downshift or speed shift the syncros will last a very long time, I would keep using the amsoil ATF, I wouldnt use motor oil as it may be too slippery for the syncros to work right.

Mix it 50:50 with Chevron or havoline 5w20. That would be pretty close to 10w30.

I would add another qt, Just to see if it makes a difference. Running a little more fluid is better than not enough. What type of tranny?

I have an OLD B&S too that states you can run on number 1 fuel oil.

wouldnt you need more compression to burn diesel?
