OK, gotme but in excuse, my spelling has never been the same since correcting an O and M manual on an SO3 plant, and the supplier proving that Australia had officially made the switch to sulfur from sulphur.

Sorry, it is a bug-bear of mine since phosphorous is a thing, different to phosphorus. I guessed you'd take it in the light-hearted manner it was offered.

I must admit I am torn on the other one - as a staunch Brit I like our old sulphur (and associated things, such as sulphonate), but as a rule-following pedant I find I must abide by IUPAC's endorsement of sulfur.

That said, I am happy that IUPAC agree with me on aluminium and caesium.

I still use the Canadian/British spelling.
Then add French Canadien.
I know how the Brits pronounce aluminium, after all, it was their invention.
How the Americans pronounce Hoosier Tires, glacier and Detroit drives me up the wall eh?

None of y'all northerners know how to 'nounce or spell nothin'.

It's Sullefurr and Fosforeus.
