Just tested brake fluid (along with coolant) with test strips in my 1990 Subaru Sambar Try XS 5spd MT and after (3) years the copper corrosion level was approximately (5) on a scale of 300 (replace at 200-300 level). This is in the Seattle area. The coolant (Zerex Asian Green) tested 55 percent glycol and pH corrosion acidity level at 10 (out of 11 is the best) replace when drops to 6.5. Test strips used were 'Phoenix Systems' test strips. I had even tested my 2015 Toyota Venza 2.7L after doing the coolant and brake fluid flush and both tested virtually the same with new fluids vs (3 years with Subaru) (Toyota SLLC and Prestone DOT 3 Synthetic brake fluid.
