There is an ethanol plant near where I live, they have an area with pumps so you can fill up your car. Dirt cheap! I wish I had an E85 car to take advantage of it.
I had high hopes for E85 designed engines. The fuel has the ability to operate at very high BSFC numbers (diesel equivalent efficiency) “IF” an engine is designed for it. But such an engine is a no-go on gasoline
In 2015 25% of new cars and trucks were flex fuel. In 2026 it's about 2%, and it's only GM. Unless government subsidies come back, the end of the road is in sight.
