ZF 8 Speed Fluid Poll

Which fluid should I go with?

It’s meant to clarify source of leaks … I’d rather have it but not at the expense of dealer knowing I did not use a fluid that was mediocre and over priced like ZF …
I have seen plenty ATF that was red but now brown or black …
That’s my only concern with Maxlife - the color. I haven’t heard of any failures on the fluid on ZF 8hp. I haven’t heard of anyone using the Top tec 1800 either. I’m sure the researchers and chemists know what they’re doing.

I'd use what the mfg. of this very expensive transmission recommends for it. ;) Especially if I had any doubt after researching and inquiring about it.

Looks like it's going to be LG 8 or ML. Keep the votes coming :) I really can't decide what fluid to use

Bcs. they are in business since 1856 and staple name of racing.
Have you used the Motul atf, or know anyone that has? Didn’t you say to go lifeguard 8, Maxlife or D6? And forget anything else?

I have Motul in Toyota. Shifts like dream.
I can’t remember always some stuff out. But Motul is always safe choice.

Doesn’t Motul have a special fluid for 8HP? O would rather go something tried and ture.

so Maxlife or Lifeguard 8

Here’s my opinion on it, as the owner of a vehicle with a ZF 8HP70. The others are probably most likely going to be just fine. The Lifeguard 8 is without a doubt going to be fine.

Ya, every universal ATF seems to recommended for Lifeguard 8. So maybe I’ll go Maxlife. Pentosin atf 8 is also interesting

Can’t speak on the transmission you have. But I’m doing a complete atf exchange in a few weeks, went with Valvoline.
