Good to know; I use G-05 in the older Saturn. Now if the AAP by me would re-open....

Good to know, thank you. You could also watch Zoro. Between AAP and Zoro, if you are not in a hurry.. They have regular 20-25% sales and occasional 30% flash sales at Zoro. Was the best price delivered to the door.
Btw, I have standardised on G-05 for all of my vehicles

I did know that because I dumped some old engine and ATF oil yesterday at AAP, but forgot to post it in the wrong forum.

I bought a gallon of concentrate for about $14-$15 with the use of a code a few weeks ago when I had to replace my t stat.

I believe it is on "sale" this month so now isn't the time to get it.

This forum (see subheading) is for discussions of ATF, MTF, Differential lubes, Brakes, Brake Fluids, and Power Steering.

The water pump has sealed bearings. Check your vehicle's maintenance manual for more details.

If you disagree with my comments, PM one of the mods to make a decision.

There you go, BOF, even better!

Ok, I was wrong, somewhat. And, I should have posted it in the Promotions forum.
But, in a way, theoretically, antifreeze/coolant DOES lubricate the pump. Also, the whole cooling system at that. Without it and just plain water, what would happen? Rust? And, how do we prevent rust? We LUBRICATE!
Or, we can can call it a protective barrier. Either or............tomato, tomoto.....

No, you are completely wrong... This belongs in the cooling subforum a subject or so down.

I really got to start reading until the end before posting.

Seems you two shook hands.

I think MolaKule was kindly correcting you. Kind of like a high school bully that becomes a cop to terrorize the city VERSUS a peace officer who writes you a citation to hopefully help you see your error and CORRECT it before life is lost.

Watch out another one of my triple posts.

Lubrication is IMO to prevent or reduce friciton. Now oil does many different things and another one of them is to oil, treat, cost, absorb into the metal to prevent rust. Maybe that is splitting hairs, but is there anything wrong with more accurate accuracy?

Seriously, I would post it but I don't think my rear end can handle any more reaming for the day.

Yes. We aren't talking about oil. And even if you were talking about coolant, it doesn't lubricate the water pump bearing.

Say it isn't so! Now I have to take my water pump off the engine because it is faulty and buy one that gets lubricated!

I just noticed, and totally forgot, that there was a coolant forum I could have posted this in.
