Yes I'd love to buy 0w50 Mobil but as most good oils they aren't imported to Uruguay. That was on my list of most preferred oils.

No one is saying that the presence of ZDDP will somehow ruin the oil, or that a few ppm here or there will turn a good oil into sandpaper. The point is that adding more ZDDP than an oil was originally formulated for will not necessarily produce a net benefit, and it's entirely possible that a newer oil with less ZDDP could perform equal to or better than an older oil with more ZDDP.

Incidentally, consider the move from API SL to API SM. SM imposed lower Zn and P limits for xw-20 and xw-30 grades, but STRICTER wear limits compared to API SL.

SG was the standard for my 1988 car. Agip 10w50 which is no longer made unfortunately. They do make a 10w60 with plenty of zddp still(1200) although no way the same amounts of the old sG Agip.

Too bad it is hard to get stuff across borders. People in the US have it easy with open borders between the states and relatively easy export/import regulations.

Gets more complicated with oil, since it has to be double packaged for air shipment.

For situations like this, and the race cars I sponsor or sell for, I carry a 5W-50 CI-4 100% group IV/V synthetic. Winning cars normally cross the finish line with oil and water at around 120C.

The 5W-50 fits fine that way

Yep you can say that again. Also UK market is pretty good.
Order online and it's at your doorstep in a few days.

Just found an AGIP importer here close to my work.
I will pay them a visit to see if they have any motor oil close to the old fact specs of 10w50.
I know Agip make a 5w50 and 20w50 but no idea of the zddp levels.

That's still not a bad level. It's certainly an oil worth considering. They need to market it up here with a thinner grade, then I'd be happy, too!
