YUGO is coming back!

The Yugo name carries no weight except in nostalgia feels, and not good ones. It would be a novelty purchase, done ironically. No one is going to come up with the financing to build a car using that business model.
EU is craving for small, cheap models built there. Chinese are killing them.
It would have to have a current platform and engines.

WHY?

There is no meme power to the name, it's like naming your kid Adolf, it's not a good start.

I remember test driving a new one when they first came out, pure garbage and total crap would be a compliment. I wonder if the new one will continue the legacy.

I wish them success. Starting a car company in the current environment will be tough. Lots of big names are doing the counter clockwise swirl.

Obligatory yugo meme.

Quick College story..... Me and some friends pranked our buddy by picking up his Yugo and rotating it 90* in the parking space, so it was perpendicular to the other cars. He was pretty PO'd, but impressed. LOL

It's a shame small cars are not very popular in this country. We had some really nice ones when I was a younger man. I wish I would have bought a Honda Hatchback or CRX back then, but the price was somewhat high.
I've been to NZ and AUS a lot and they have some really nice little cars/SUV's Saw this awesome Suzuki Jimny last October in Brisbane.

If it really is a rebadged something else as someone else has already suggested, then yeah, just calling it by whatever it's real name might be better. Or just use Plymouth, or something else that's already in use.
It must have modern platform and engine. They won’t be able to sell it. Half of previous domestic market for Yugo is in EU, all follow EU emission standards. Then crash test standards.
