yep - no change in internet speed at all (~ 15 MBPS), but all of a sudden youtube videos, even in 480P don't load all the way and stop after a few seconds/minutes.
works ok after pausing, letting the bar load a bit, and when played (resumed again)...

latest FF version and latest Flash.

even 1080p and 720p used to play fine before without any pause.

what gives???

I'm testing, see no issue. If you had an example would test that. If you have ccleaner installed shut down FF, run ccleaner, reboot. Try again

Also the 15mb is only as good as the router that keeps packets clean.

I just googled - it seems to be a very widespread issue ...
some say YT is limiting bandwidth and amount of video pre-loading...

search youtube for "stewart copeland wrapped around your finger" and pick the top result; play at 480p...

but pretty much any youtube HD (720p) video would be a better example. I just mentioned the one above because it wouldn't even play at 480p

HOWEVER, doesn't happen with ALL videos - just with most.

No problem at the moment, but with Comcast, I can get full internet speed and streaming content sometimes becomes hit or miss because the signal goes on and off sporadically.

Have you tried restarting your computer? Sometimes that helps my situation.

Works fine for me. I haven't noticed anything unusual while playing it. And I was downloading another movie in the background while playing it.

Yeah that one was low quality but it didn't hang on me. This one was good. What I noticed was 720p fully loaded in about 20secs, 380 and 480 less than a minute, slower. But both were ahead. no hangs or glitches

My guess is (wireless?) router maybe. Trying using an ethernet cable and what transpires.

I have problems with You Tube at times on this laptop I'm on but it's usually in the evenings. My speed is averaging around 35 to 40 mb with Cableone....sometimes as high as 48 to 49 mb....depending on time of day.

Now You Tube videos on my Kindle Fire? No problems at all and it uses the same wireless modem/router as the laptop.

still having any problems?

I just sat and watched

"epic rap battles of history season 2"

in 1080p and it was buffering the whole 3-4 min clips in about 30s

Looks like it's mostly ok now...
IDK what fixed it - getting Tomato on the Linksys, getting the newest Falsh update or perhaps the time I was watching them (evenings)?

I also noticed that FF takes longer to load a video than Chrome...

Thanks for all the feedback...I may end up getting a new router anyway, but for now, no more buffering even with 720 and 1080p stuff

BUT the real test will be mon night, when internet is supposed be slowest in general...will check and report tomorrow night...

Is this because there is nothing interesting on TV?

LOL you're partly correct...specifically in our case for sure, but also in general ...
I read somewhere that Mon eve is the time where slowest internet speeds are reported, worldwide...IDK how accurate that is, but sure seems to be crawling Mon eve's, IMO

We don't watch much TV...in fact we've NEVER had cable..
our entertainment comes from Netflix (mail and streaming) and Amazon Prime.

we do have quite a few OTA HD channels, which we use to catch the news, and watch a FEW shows rarely...that's more than enough TV for us
