Youtube has turned into a massive AI "garbage" distribution point.

The "algorithm"..... On my main YT page today is a video from a guy visiting the last remaining "Burger Chef" in the country. Did I search for "burger chef" or burgers or food or anything related on YT ? Nope. Did I comment on a reddit post recently about pictures from an F1 race in Detroit many, many years ago where someone in a picture was drinking out of a Burger Chef cup and I mentioned "haven't heard that name in a long time...." ? Yeap. Did I Google what happened to Burger Chef ? Yeap. It's all connected.

That's neither practical nor possible. A) The "algorithm" will continue to show you related or similar content to your subscribed channels and B) what happens when you search for something new that you're looking for help with ? Content related to that will creep in too now.
And you can mark each of the undesirable videos as "not interested" and/or "don't recommend."

Yup.
Here is how that looks like on a computer, I imagine you can do the same on a mobile device.
Click on the three dots and select either "Not interested" or "Don't recommend channel".

My subscribed channels so far no AI
Yeah, any reasonable person can find YouTube educational and helpful when you’re listening to a known person such as people who produce books on various topics, medical networks or any other sites with qualified people.

It’s also great to get various opinions on all kinds of subjects for me. It’s been mostly Social Security, Medicare and the health networks lately.

It’s kind of easy to tell the real people from the fake or people who pretend to know what they’re talking about.
I think the phony fake and AI stuff is just for channel and Internet surfers where they look for clicks

The internet is following closely behind. The amount of AI websites with useless overly general information, all with the same format, is alarming. Social media ruined the internet, AI will be one of the finals nails in the coffin.

They need to have an option to exclude AI videos from searches, it's ruining the platform. Some seem to like them, I've even seen BITOG members repost this slop.
Not always on purpose sadly.

Ai is best at generalizing and summarizing data sets but the model has to be a more mechanistic type rather than chatgpt . The way most use ai should be banned as it’s not a safe video and companion program.

Next YouTube’s “blocking” isn’t perfect, a lot of foreign folk like making English language videos but are self conscious about their voice, I’ve encountered definite ai voice videos that weren’t flagged,
Same goes the other way.
Ai gets old, so much made up fan fiction on every topic that even before air slop was difficult to sort out.

The fake A.I. stuff is getting into everything. Hard to tell unless you are looking for it.

That darn matrix!

I have noticed YouTube has started putting an "altered or synthetic content" label at the start of AI videos. I see that and immediately hit the back button.
Be better if it was plastered over it before you waste a click.

I’ve wasted up to 30 seconds before noticing “here’s the twist” or another anachronism that screems ai voice , not all videos are properly flagged.

And some stealing the likeness of never get taken down for stolen/ impersonation

There's no real competitors to You Tube either...maybe Rumble, but it's not that good and they allow AI content too i think. At some point, older people will stop watching the u tube and just go for a walk in the woods or something instead. Let the kids grow up in their A.I. version of the matrix...

I just saw something worse.
Some nobody YouTuber had an interview with a hot Tuber and told him in the intro he is going to hit him with tough questions etc after he has a bathroom break...

What a moron... he lowered his voice like he was a tough guy...it was political so I couldn't link it here. Loser !!!!

Recent gripe: I started watching a video about the 302 Chevy with that AI voice and constant photos of 302 Ford engine bays. Probably a lot of misinformation, too, but how would I know? I'm not an expert on that engine, which is why I clicked the video in the first place.

I also see a bunch of military video thumbnails with sensational titles like "They thought this farm boy was a hayseed until he killed 5000 Nazis with baling wire!!" I started watching one, then noticed comments suggesting the story was fake. A search for the name (a fighter pilot, maybe?) came up with no results.

To someone's question about Google searches: I saw the suggestion to add "-AI" (minus AI, without the quotes) at the end of your search. I have tried it, and it seems to work--except when I asked how to exclude AI content from Google searches. I use Firefox. Results may vary with other browsers, especially Chrome.
