Youtube has turned into a massive AI "garbage" distribution point. Man, did that happened quick. Tons and tons of information channels less then 2 to 6 months old, and spewing "garbage". You can't even surf it much, seems you can only rely on my old main channels. They even have the balls to use AI famous/semi famous people. I know AI Elon was advertising scam junky wall heaters will dubious claims. You would think he would have "a guy" looking for that daily and do a cease and desist order to Youtube as soon as it posted. There is not much you can do about it other then stay on your set channels.

They need to have an option to exclude AI videos from searches, it's ruining the platform. Some seem to like them, I've even seen BITOG members repost this slop.
You use to be able to spot their eyes, mouth, head, and arm movement glitches. But that is not happening as much, as it is advancing to semi perfection very very fast.

Have noticed the same lately.

The bad news is that I can’t filter the AI slop out as easily. So, as was mentioned, I usually stick to the channels I’ve watched for a while.

The good news is that it’s pushing me away from social media.

Yes! Pick a subject material and you'll start seeing countless repetitive and often-overlapping channels all about the same subject. Watch just one of them and it'll start recommending more for you. The AI-generated narration, errors in context and far-fetched illustrations are cringey, Fortunately you can opt out of having them recommend more from those channels, but you have to axe them one at a time.

There is an option to mark altered content. I don't think their censorship tools are advanced yet to detect AI content.

It's all part of the plan. The Dead Internet conspiracy is an interesting one. Basically that AI and bots have taken over social media and who knows what's real and what's fake or manipulation. Most of us seasoned folks see right through it but the group think is strong among the younger generation.

@Leo99 you might have a point. A lot of alternative voices are now being faked by AI (like Varoufakis, et. al) so when it's really Varoufakis, you are not sure if it's indeed him. As the old wisdom goes, they are not lying to us so that believe their lies (some of course do), but to make sure we are skeptical of the truth.

I recently found and installed a browser plugin called "AI Channel Blocker." It seems to work well to reduce the amount of AI junk content on YouTube. It uses a community driven list of AI channels that users can contribute to.

Report every AI video you run across
To whom?

Dennis Collins, Hagerty, Blancolirio, Cleetus McFarland, Fab Rats, Steve Morris, Johnny Hopper, Foose Design....so far no AI noted in any of these channels... got lots more bookmarked.

Mozilla has a YouTube AI blocker for Firefox. When I use Google to search the AI responses are first. Is there a way to block them?
