Fender Vibro Champ from 1975. Knew I wanted one, found one on eBay that was going for a ridiculously low price that appeared to be in good condition. Guy said it just hummed loudly, so I knew exactly what was wrong with it. He shipped it with plenty of packaging, and it arrived without a scratch in excellent condition. Replaced the old electrolytic capacitors, put in a fresh 6V6 output tube, and it's my favorite amp now.
Talked the wife into buying a generator that was on sale, and while I was on the fence of whether it was really worth it, it helped us out when a tree took out the power lines for 24 hours one February. Kept the furnace and lights going. A few days later some friends reported that they were still without power, so I loaned them the generator and they were able to get heat and light going their house. No longer wondering if it was worth it.
