At least our trolls are slightly relevant and don't make me tl;dr in 3 sentences of stupid topic and bad grammar.

I only read the first paragraph, but...there had to be something else in what he smoked, not just weed...
I personally have never partaken, but no one i know who has,(some of whom are/were regular smokers) never talked about stuff like that with just weed.

I wonder how many of these guys are actually "pulling the wool over our eyes"? They are actually very intelligent and enjoy leading the forum members on a ride.

Take GearHeadTool for instance. He always seemed to ride on the edge of reason and whenever one problem was finally solved, he immediately presented another. Was he real, or did he have great skills and received pleasure in manipulating everyone?

I remember on an audio forum one poster lead everybody on for over a year regarding audio cables. Then, he admitted that he was just a teenager and was leading everyone on a wild goose chase.

A few people here seemed to be duped by Gearheadtool. While I didn't participate, I did get sucked into the entertainment aspect of the threads like thousands of others.

I wonder when he will reappear with yet another alias?

I honestly have no idea, but I'm sure there is someone out there that knows. His actions just remind me of someone that's on mushrooms.

The worse troll I know of that bobistheoilguy.com has is this guy who keeps coming back with new user names. He gets out of hand, gets banned, and somehow keeps coming back. He has probably been banned at least six times.

I think the way to stop these guys is to expect for a post to stay on subject. If a post is about, say, MMO, it should stay on MMO, both positive and negative comments. But if somebody shows up and starts to attack people personally, and if that individual seems more interested in making some smart aleck remark than discussing MMO, that is a good indication of a troll. If I am reading a post about MMO (or whatever the post is about) I want to learn about that. I did not start reading the post to see some smart aleck remark by somebody who thinks they are brilliantly clever. I also do not come to the post to be attacked by somebody, or see somebody else get attacked.

I also get tired of the product promoters. You can tell the product promoters. Everything is 'snake oil' except for whatever product they are promoting.

Yes Bitog has a few Trolls, mostly re-incarnated Trolls though at least in my opinion. I had fixed it with my Ignore List, then the other day I cleared the list and had no one on ignore. I do that from time to time. I get to reinforce the value of the Ignore List by doing it. Set up a good Ignore List Mystic Bitog will be much more enjoyable for you.

For now I have no one on Ignore I want to see if the re-incarnated Troll/Trolls find this thread. LOL
 
If it is the same troll you are talking about he will show up and try to impress everybody with one of his oh so clever remarks. I sometimes wonder if he reads his 'brilliantly clever' remarks over and over again just to impress himself.

It used to be really funny at the Windows Supersite website with the trolls there. But the website has been changed somewhat so it is different today.

These guys who were Linux fans and Apple fans would hang around that website in the past. You have to wonder why they would hang out at a Windows website since they thought Linux and Mac OS X were so superior to Windows. But they would hang out and constantly try to convince people at the website to change to their operating systems.

It really became old-the same old stuff on and on. At a Windows website I want to learn about Windows. I own a Mac too but I will go to Mac websites to learn about Macs. I guess the Linux and Apple guys just felt so bad for the Windows people they just had to spend all day trying to save the Windows people. Now I visit Mac oriented websites also and strangely enough there does not seem to be Windows trolls hanging around those websites trying to save all of the people with Apple Computers. Maybe the Windows trolls would be attacked so fiercely they would learn to stay away. Or maybe they would be banned immediately.

I used to wonder about the mentality of a person who would hang out all day long at a Windows website trying to convince people to switch to another operating system.
