I first saw one of these machines in early 1980, when working out in the country doing tax returns. Instead of LUCAS, it was promoting Morley's Oil Stabilizer.
My car was a '68 Impala with a very tired 307 that burned a lot of oil. I bought a container of Morley's with high hopes. The oil consumption did not go down measurably.
Oh well, at least I was able to dilute some of that Quaker State 10W-30 that I used religiously.
