since the valve cover gaskets are leaking, why not pull them, inspect them, and then come back with pictures or results on if the head is dirty? that would be telling if you need to do any treatment at all.

Yes that way I can tell for sure if the timing belt has been changed or NOT and some reference point of deposits.
Seller claimed the belt had been changed but he also claimed all maintenance was performed on time.
It wasn’t other than oil changes as per the vehicle inspection at my choice of shop.
