Well remember when you have your nice summer it's bloody freezing here so you get to laugh at us!
But even your winters are nice! What does it go down to at night, maybe 10C?quote:

Well luckly I didn't have to go anywhere, if I did I sure would have stayed off of I24, I'm pretty good about finding the backroads.quote:

msparks, I saw that I-24 from Nashville up to Paducah, Kentucky was ice and snow packed! Seeing that icy roadway reminded me when the roller-rink announcer would proclaim "this is an all skate!"
I hope you didn't have to drive in that mess! It's amazing anyone gets anywhere since only major roadways are salted 'round here. At least the local Kroger had plenty of cold Fosters for the holidays.

For 5 years I had a contract to deliver nuke meds to hospitals in south central PA. I drove 350-400 miles a night. Harrisburg has about 100 individual bridges and the area was frequently subjected to freezing rain. I'd be there in my BMW or my C20 or whatever I had and would maintain about 6-8 car lengths in the 10 mph traffic ...this allowed people jammed at the on ramps to enter the roadway and allowed me plenty of extra space to stop. The rest of the clowns were bumper to bumper ...and invariably ..there were a ton of fender benders. I just couldn't figure out what virus had infected so many in a situation that is so hazardous.quote:
I don't understand why folks that can't drive in the snow even venture out. I think this is the moronic part of it.
Don't forget about the upper peninsula of Michigan, they get tons of lake effect snow too.quote:

Here is a pic at the snow capital of the US (which goes back and forth between Buffalo/Syracuse/Rochester). Some old dude burried from a Buffalo Lake effect event in 1979. Some serious snow up their.
