Cleaning is not evil but I think most people here prefer a slower clean then using a flush for quick clean and risk clogging up some important passages in the motor.
Me I'm all for slow cleaning as long as the motor will survive with the gunk inside while the cleaning is going on. I've never had to de-gunk a motor in my life probably never will as the first thing I look at is the dipstick and under the oil cap then go for a test drive when purchasing vehicles.
