I was going to run something like that next time too, Ill keep my eyes open for a deal on the Pennzoil Platinum / Pennzoil Ultra. Sometimes its cheaper than wholesale in the 5 quart jugs. Anyone know of any deals in north nj? Ill find it and put it aside for her next time. Maybe grab 5 or 6 jugs just to have it.
Also, since its a catridge filter, there is no oversized option that will fit in the housing.

Why don't you grab a bunch of the FAR G-Oil deals... advance also has next-gen that's free after rebate as well...

I'd run a bunch of free oil in it for short intervals (at this point I think any kind of oil would help move about some of the crud in that engine.)

Even if she pays full price for the Pennzoil Platinum / Pennzoil Ultra you will be doing her a favor. It will be interesting to see the first filter element that comes off. Please come back to this thread and post a pic.

I would run the cheaper Pennzoil or G-oil as a short interval flush, but Id prefer a syn in a turbo car, and I can guarantee shell be timely with her return time. I will post back, Im very excited to get that car in the air and see how it looks.

I have a video to go with this, but I cannot post it.
It was actually stuck in the can. It made a sick 'shlorp' sound when I finally managed to pull it out.

Isnt off my engine. Pulled it off a 4.8L Vortec at work. When that sick stuff started crawling out of the outlet hole I knew what I had to do.
I bagged it and took it home. FOR SCIENCE!
I think it was about 1/2 way to sentience before we cut off its blood flow.

That's the worst filter i've ever seen.

What was the mileage and type of oil? I would have paid for an UOA on that just to satisfy my curiosity.

Thanks for posting, almost mede me choke on my coffee a little bit ago.

Here's a 2009 with major sludge problems. How do people do this to their vehicles? ... must never have changed the factory oil in 3 years.

(sorry, Youtube embedded code doesn't seem to work on this chatboard)

It's a 6.doh, they do stuff like that when you DO maintain them! Wonder if a 5.9 Cummins will fit in that van...it fits a Super Duty like it was designed for it.
