Worst Cheap Beer in America

Ain’t nothing wrong with PBR, or Budweiser for that fact. Sometimes, a craft beer just ain’t gonna cut the mustard.

I remember it. The small writing on the side of the can said it was made by Falstaff. The only beer that would give me a headache on the first can. Looking back, what truly was refreshing about this beer was the lack of government warnings on the side of the can.
Papa Joe Griesedieck was the founder of Falstaff. The entry call in to Midwest bars was often," Gimme a couple Greasy D___!"

Utica Club is pretty nasty. Genesee Cream Ale is different and marginally better, but once you've tasted it both ways, it loses its charm. Both have local following near their breweries. I'm not sure either is cheap anymore, but they used to be.

The worst commercially promoted beer I have ever consumed was Lone Star. Surely it's defunct. Conversely, Hamm's is a very good cheap beer. In a blind taste testing, some microbrewers actually liked it.
Oh darn. My favorite.

When the Falstaff in this area was made in St. Louis it was probably the best mass produced beer. At our fraternity house Falstaff on tap from St. Louis was the most requested beer. We put a Budweiser emblem on the tap and the guests raved how good "on tap" Budweiser was.

I don't know if it's made in the US, but sold here....Chihuahua...I think the little dogs must actually "make" it.
Any Mexican beer for that matter is bad.

Busch, I'm just not drinking that. Frat house beer.
I don't think I've had Busch since my freshman year of college when I went to a lot of frat house parties and that was the supplied beer. Pretty sure I've never bought it in a store. When I found my group of friends (not a frat, but just as dumb at the time), the selection of beer became much more varied, but just as cheap. I remember Walmart started carrying these ridiculously cheap 30 packs of Genesee, so that was a thing for a while. Genny Light actually wasn't bad though.

When I think "cheap", I'm thinking the likes of The Beast, Tall Boys, Latte', etc. Like sub $10 case stuff. Maybe I'm just not snobby enough, but I consider Champagne and Diesel pretty mainstream.

The worst I've ever had was Red White and Blue. It was so bad, Miller didn't even bring it over when they bought Heileman.
