The only time companies will move thier business back into the USA is when the USA becomes the 3rd world country !

+1

NAPA gold filter I got 2 months ago was made in USA and teh wix acdelco was made in USA.

If I ever see mexico on wix's products i'll never give another penny to them.

This reminds me, has anyone seen the Mexico made AC Delco oil filters before? I seen them a few times several months ago. They looked different, but I can't put a finger on which other brand they might have looked like. I would dig through all the those filters till I found a USA made one, and if I couldn't I'd use Purolators. I haven't seen any Mexico AC Delcos lately. They've been all USA made and now all Ecore style.

Almost every champ AcDelco and ST for that matter have been american. says it on nice green letters "Product of the USA"

Our wal-mart here is still full of non-ecore AcDelcos of all sizes.

at the rate we are going its only a matter of time

I don't care if they want to move to Mexico, as long as there are simple requirements:
1. The entire team responsible for the move decision moves with the company and loses American citizenship. They are now Mexicans.

2. They can try to sell their products to Mexicans because their stuff isn't allowed up here anymore.

I posted in another thread (probably the Purolator/China one) that I bought some PF457G equivalents for my Cobalt a couple of weeks ago, some Napa Golds that cost about $8 after the local 20% bag sale my store was having and some Purolator Pure One's at Farm & Fleet that came out to $6 after the rebate.

Napa Gold, in this particular application, made in South Korea.
Pure One, again this application, made in USA.

. The Walmart near me last time I looked is completely out of the common sizes for AC Delco PF47 and PF52. And the ones they had when they did have some stock were all switched to the Ecore. Maybe people change oil more around here, but they have a boatload of ST so I'm thinking the store just isn't ordering correctly. They only had one qt of Dex VI too

. Funny thing about Walmart is you can go to two different ones in the same city and they will carry a slighly different stock of things never available at the other store.

I know I've seen those Mexico AC Delco oil filters several time in the past. I don't remember if I saw them at Walmart before but I think so. I'm not sure who was making them.

Bravo! I agree. You do have to blame some of the consumers too sometimes. There are people that don't mind buying something that was outsourced to Mexico or China and are willing to pay as much or more without complaint. It's like they like outsourcing or something

I think more and more people are caring less and less about where things are made as long as the price is cheap - mostly in today's economy. Main reason Walmart does so well. We have become desensitized on trying to keeping work in this country just because it would typically relsult in higher product costs. Too bad companines have to be so greedy and can't make a business successful by keeping it all in the USA.

Well I guess it makes sense. With all those purity laws in their religion, I would suspect it to be nice and clean.

It would also explain the price. Gouge the American imperialist pigs. LOL

I had started a topic on that a while ago on the 3 Napa Pro-Select oil filters that I bought in Maine last year that are Mada in China.

But they cost only $2.69 each and look decent. I'll start using them next year. I thought that they were still made at the SC plant or somewhere in North America.

I live about 10 miles from Wix's plant in Gastonia. Every Wix fliter I've purchased has been made there. Maybe distribution is reagional for certain filters?

As far as outsourcing, capitalism, and greed go... when Uncle Sam decides to get HIS greedy fingers out of the pockets of American business, then we'll see jobs come back and prosperity resume. Until then, American companies will continue paying 1/3 to almost half of their revenue to govt & co. And outsourcing will continue unabated.

"American businesses, large and small and across all industries pay from 35% to 41.6% of their income in combined state and federal taxes. The 41.6% maximum rate is scheduled to rise to 46.2% in 2010 when President Obama's promised tax increases are implemented. Compare that to socialist France where companies pay only 34.4% in taxes, to China where the rate is 25%, or Russia which levies a mere 24%. Corporations in Ireland, Europe's fastest growing economy for the
last 18 years, pay just 12.5% in taxes."

hmmm...

In the words of Winston Churchill "A nation that thinks it can tax itself back into prosperity is like standing in a bucket and trying to lift it by the handles" Now he may have been a crude drunk, but here was spot on.

I don't want to get into a tax discussion in regard to outsourcing, that would be long and complicated lol. But putting aside just how much tax corporations really pay with all the loopholes, these companies would outsource even if the taxes were the same because they are looking for cheaper labor. So I think the argument should be, "corporations are wanting a lower tax rate AND a lower labor rate"

Doesn't sound like a nice solution for everyone else besides the corps. to me.

I do think we are taxed too much though but I don't think it's the corporations carrying most of the tax burden, moreso the middle class. Corps. like to get in on the tax spending but avoid the tax collection.
