WIX oil filter 51334 origin?

Hi,

Can anyone here confirm that the current WIX oil filter 51334 is still made in USA? I just purchased the Napa Gold filter for my 2017 Hyundai Elantra and is
says "made in China" on the filter. It is safe to us this one in my Elantra, or is the quality much lower that Hyundai OEM?? I went with the Napa Gold to save some money, since my dealer is now charging $17 for Hyundai OEM filter!

So I was wonder if the WIX 51334 is also now made in China?

Any thoughts, or just bit the bullet and pay more for OEM Hyundai filter?

INHO, a China, Korean, or Mexico made filter that's under a known brand name, is built to that brands standards. I'm sure it's safe to use.

Yeah, they have been sourcing from just about everyone, so it's a random luck of the draw where your Wix will be made, especially the 51334.

Also, the OE Hyundai filter is the Mann W811/80, which is Korean-made. Sometimes you'll get that in the Wix box, if you're lucky.

Another good choice is the Full 2-OHY001. Napa still has that one, though they have been thinning out their Full line lately. The Full is made in Thailand by a major OE supplier called Siam Filter; almost every OE and aftermarket oil filter made in Thailand is made by Siam/Full.

Those Napa Gold China filters should be better quality than the Napa Gold Wix or the regular Wix IMO. .. They are now coming from the Premium Guard network of factories in China and Vietnam which also makes the Microgard Select below.... Also should be better than an OEM Hyundai.

Post some photos of the new filter if you can.

You got a better Premium Guard made filter. I would not dwell on the Made In China part.
