Update guys, got my three Wix filters today, two looked normal with normal date codes.

The other a 51036 was light as a feather, looked inside and saw little filter media.

Also made in USA and different date code.

I'm not using it, what is going on???

ETA I setup a return with Amazon, they did not want me to return the filter.

Thanks, just tried that, different crimp so not working. I'll try again tomorrow.

It is the same as the other filters, If this is a wix just wow. I can squeeze it, feels like an unopened can of beer.

Maybe it's counterfeit.

I also noticed the threaded hole seems small, I'll have to compare it to the one I remove but I'm pretty sure it's too small.

Looking at date code format and baseplate design, topic an M&H "Wix" made by Purolator. M&H has moved some "Wix" filter production to Puro plant, 'seems' to be the case here. If compared to equivalent L/PL 24011, my speculation it will look very similar if not the same. Based on the info and pics and info provided, imo highly unlikely it's "counterfeit." As for weight, personally don't put much into that particular aspect of filter qualities.

All that said, based on what you've concluded, imo good you've decided just to cut it open.
