Way back when, out in the Western states, there was a touchless car wash that cleaned perfectly. It pre treated the car with a chemical that smelled a bit like Windex Outdoor Glass cleaner. Let it soak for 20 seconds or so, then pressure washed off the dirt. I'd take the cars off road canyon racing, and not worry that they'd be filthy when it was time to go home.
Anyway, I tried Windex Outdoor glass cleaner on my car and truck, worked incredibly well. It dissolved the FL bugs I get driving out to PHK airport, and rinsing left the car and truck spotless, and water beading like crazy from the Griots ceramic wax I have on there.
I'm not sure I see a downside. It is the fastest and easiest way I've ever found to wash a dirty truck with near zero effort. Sure, it's not pH balanced like most automotive soaps are and is likely to have a pH of 9. That's what makes it work so well. If you try it, rinse it off properly.
This stuff also works incredibly well on my home windows and my screened in patio.
Came out looking great:
