I'm quite certain the beer companies didnt make any players beat their wives.
Boycotting beer, or any other advertiser, makes about as much sense as boycotting the sponsors that bring you the nightly news because you're fed up with Isis.

How long do think it would take if Bud and Miller told the NFL to get rid of the woman beater?..seriously.

Nope, never happen. There still seems to be some classy players left, but more and more just a bunch of street thugs, paid very well.

Course not. What does beating his wife have to do with football? What do you care if he beat his wife?
If the courts didn't jail the guy then what gives the NFL a higher moral authority to meter out justice as they or the fans see it.

I have to agree here. I took out the part I didn't agree with though( we should all care about someone getting beaten but it needs to be put into perspective ).

It is not the job or responsibility of the NFL to hand out punishment and/or justice for criminal acts like Greg Hardy was involved in. That is the court's domain. If a player breaks league rules then it is up to the league to deal with it( only to have the court's and/or arbiters step in and over rule them sadly - like reducing Hardy's 10 game league suspension ). People expect too much from the leagues and businesses on stuff like this.

People go too far in their calls for action as well. Boycott the entire NFL because of a couple of POS players and stupid owners who hire them? Hardly. That is punishing every team owner/player in the league for the actions of a small group. Stop buying products from sponsors of the NFL? Yeah, let's do that and put a lot of hard working folks out of work to punish the NFL. People are too ruled by their emotions these days and don't think.

It's like what happened to Penn State and the molestation scandal. What the NCAA did was wrong! They punished current players via the sanctions they applied to the university. Those current players had no involvement with what happened and weren't even on the team at the time it happened but they had their college careers impacted by the NCAA in a negative way. Heck, they were just little kids themselves when it happened. Fine the university, punish Patterno if you feel he enabled it, etc... but they went too far with their sanctions and the players took a hit as well. Totally ridiculous.

If you want to boycott over Hardy boycott the Cowboys. What do the Bills, Browns, Seahawks, Falcons, etc... have to do with it? Why boycott Budweiser and Miller and hurt those hard working employees who had nothing to do with what Hardy is accused of doing? Hardy is a free man and has the right to seek employment. Doesn't mean I defend what he is accused of either so save that [censored]. Just wish people would direct their indignation at the correct source and in a well thought out manner. In this case take your anger out on Jerry Jones and the Cowboys. The entire league has nothing to do with it. People have a right to work and employers have the right to hire who they want. You have the right to not deal with that business but when you do remember you can hurt innocent people.

I doubt it, this country is obsessed with football and cell phones.

Exactly. The day that Americans stop watching football in the millions...will be the day after a nuclear holocaust.

I can only dream that NFL football (and smart phones) would suddenly vanish from the face of the American landscape.

+1000

If you've cut the cord and rely on OTA transmissions, I don't plan on suddenly paying for ESPN to get games that used to be regularly broadcast on ABC...nor do I stream them. They're out of luck. I just wonder how many out there are like me....the neighbor told me that extended basic cable is now $119/mo. and it was already an overpriced $71/mo. when I canned it six years ago. Having to cover cable's losses isn't an option for me and IMO shouldn't be for anyone.

Exactly! Maybe I shouldn't say who cares if she is beaten but realistically all the caring in the world isn't going to help her or anyone else. Unlike violence committed by illegals than could be prevented to some extent with laws like Kate's law domestic violence can only be punished after the fact but not prevented.

Violence cannot be controlled with restraining orders or anything else, once someone has decided to use violence and mentally accepts the consequences there is no stopping or preventing it, time, location and distance become just a logistical inconvenience.

the nfl has a conduct code that all nfl "employees" must follow, or be subject to discipline.it has to do with integrity of the sport, so to speak.wife beatings, for example, look bad for the team, the city, and the sport.iow, it's bad for business. that code gives them the right to discipline people.
'gotta go. it's halftime in the packers game. time to fire up the q, and put on some food.

we'll be having veal, smoking some cigars, and drinking brandy/beer.i know that i'm offending people that hate veal eaters, sports, anti smokers, and tea totalers. too bad. deal with it.
have a good night, all. even the haters.

It should be purely up to the NFL, the team owners and the players union to come to an agreement on hiring or firing a football player for.
If you as a fan don't like it, don't watch it.

My thoughts on the sport? I don't think football should have any place in modern society.
I find it ridiculous how many guys and a few gals have an unbelievably strong emotional attachment to American football or football (soccer)

Most guys have a strong subliminal urge to belong to a tribe and project this on to a football team. This is a rather sad indictment of human society.

The question is rather if fans will stop being fans.

If women are going to date these animals....then buyer beware. The vast majority of NFL & NBA players are thugs with a uniform on.

Money, fame and fortune has lured women to the "bad boy" persona for decades. If you sleep with dogs you get fleas.
