Wife has been car shopping

Since I am not sure what I want, but am willing to tkae "her" Camry, she has been starting to look too. Green and stick is about all she wants, although something with about 40mpg would be nice. Like her old Civic, just not with its problems.

So she finds this.

I am not sure just why the owner would trade in at a Nissan dealer, nor for what model, but we had a good chuckle at that.
 
If I ran a dealership I'd go re-photograph the stock when the snow melted and update my website.

That shaguar isn't the first thing I'd pilot through a blizzard.

No kidding. As I have spent an inordinate amount of time lately looking, it was surprising how much snow I saw. Makes me wonder if that is lazy, or if the seller is signaling to observant people that they may be willing to dicker more--it obviously has been taking up space for a long time.

That's my thought too....historically if you owned a Jaguar, you owned two - one to drive and one to be in the shop.

supton, Subaru makes several models in green with a stick that get in excess of 30mpg.

Yeah, she found that too... which I'm concerned about. My experience is with the older Subaru's, which seemed not so long term good. I know things change, but she does not think she needs AWD. I mean, she did a winter recently with bald all seasons and thought nothing of it (shame on me I know).

I kinda want three Toyotas, all simple to repair, reasonable lifespan etc. She says she misses her Civic but, like how others here keep reminding me that mid size is so much nicer for long drives than compact, I think she might miss her Camry.

I know Subaru is better than they used to be, but... I'd rather have the cheaper Corolla and suffer.

So she drives a 2011 with bald tires, my wife drives a Camry older than that and I made sure it had 4 new Conti's before winter started. Who is the wiser consumer?

I think that's up for debate depending on how long he wants his wife around!
 
Camry has good tires now, as it did for the last winter. It was the winter before that I put off as long as possible. Bald may be the wrong term, half worn is better. And our impression was that MxV4's that were half worn were better in snow than full tread depth ones--those were a miserable tire in snow. But since they were only half worn, and she does not go out much when it snows, she did not want snows. So it was a decision made by indecision to run lousy tires.

Has rt43's now, and as long as they have more than half tread she will run those this winter. Amazing how much better they were than Michelin.

That winter I ran mostly worn entyres myself. All round cheapskate that year. IIRC, I was miffed that my Nordman 2's were toast after 30k, huge flat spots in tread. The following year I learned about DTD's sales, and went that route.
 
Plus the Jag is not a stick 8 speed auto with "manual mode".

With snow I always liked the Subaru's. Mileage won't be as high but Forester and Crosstrek come in stick. I think Outback and Legacy were phased out of stick.

Not sure on the dependability (CR said said high cost of ownership). Volkswagon Passat Deisel. Almost 50 mpg, large car.

Mazda 6 still comes in a stick. One of the Honda Accords does also.

Skip the mileage and 2015 the Chevy SS has stick shift

No VW this time. We had our fill. I like the diesel power and VW feel, but had to drive past 300k to justify the price of admission, and getting service is a deal breaker.

School gets canceled when snow threatens, thus snow capability is not high on our list.

Sorry, this was meant to be a humorous thread, not about my shopping.

Although those threads were about specific models, and this thread is specific about her looking.
