Why is this oil red?!?

L-E's gasoline engine oils are as red as most ATFs. Red Line's engine oils do probably have a touch of red dye in them, but they're not ‘red' in the sense of ATF or the OP's pictures.

I wouldn't be worried about the situation, OP.

Now that I've run through the RP stash it'll be staying with the QSUD. I'm curious as to how this recent oil change will look after some miles.


I would like to add that it wasn't red when the QSUD was fresh and doing the oil change. This was after 1500 some odd miles after.
 
C' mon Ive seen it plenty of times and we discussed this years ago. Nothing to do with dye.

Many oils turn mahogany red -brown when drained used.

I'll chalk it up to: SN formulation and E10 and fuel dilution
