Yes we are a sports lovin and a partin town. We have some of the most diverse dining in the nation. But, our youths have just gone LOCO, and it's not because of drugs. They have found a new kind of sport... It's called lets ruined somebodys LIFE!

Here is the link for those that wish to enjoy.

That web site documents everything very well. In true big-city fashion, it takes flippin' forever to get a place like that closed down.

As an aside...
Interesting how everyone in Chicago lives on a street corner, no one lives in the middle of the block.

When you ask someone where they live they say:

"Lake and Halsted"
or
"Fulton and Green"
or
"106th & Torrence"

Sounds like you know the area! Thats one reason its a hard place to have fun after dark. There was a time here you could stay at the beach area till daybreak, not any more.

Well, I used to live there. Visited a couple weeks ago for the Genesis concert and had a wonderful dinner in Little Italy.

Note to Gino's east owner(s): Please make a Gino's East in Nashville, TN. Thank you.

Yup,
I get to come downtown for work at 9pm Saturday.
Then I get to drive home with them when I get out at 5am.
Some of the wrecks and other idiotic ---- makes me wonder about society.
Its all about Money and alcohol?

My wife and I moved into a bad neighborhood with a problem bar on the corner. Took us 2 years of trying (mostly praying) before the owner sold it. That was our best chance. The new owner was trying to turn it into a cash and carry place (40 oz. beers for under 2 bucks!). We rallied the neighborhood and went to every town council meeting. Pathetic. They would tell neighborhoods for every problem that they would look into it, etc. etc., then would not do anything. With us, they said they would have a closed door meeting the next time and then announce their decision after telling everyone how much they agree with us. Guess what. It passed. At that point we pulled out our big guns. They had multiple issues that violated the Pennsylvania Liqour Control Board's policies. The council passed an illegal floor plan. We hired an attorney and long story shorter before it ended we had a personal lawsuit and the city had a lawsuit against the owner. He decided to move because it was going to take too long. Took us three years and definitely reiterated to us that money speaks to politicians. Everyone of them who was seeking reelection within my district lost- I made sure of it. Doubt the new people are any better though. Nice to be able to sit on my front porch without drunks, drug addicts and prostitutes walking around. Good luck in the fight, keep praying and harass the owner. Double check local liquor laws. We got them on the amount of required seating. He was 2 seats off. Also, call the cops anytime there is a problem. While they never gave me the number, supposedly if the cops got called so many times a year they would label it a nuissance bar and tougher restrictions would be put in place.

I agree. In addition, I was going to put a camera on my front porch. The police said as long as it is not looking directly toward anyone's property, it would be fine. I was going to have it directed so that it could see the bar in the corner. My neighbor was going to do the same and get another angle. When the bar owner heard that, he was not so nice. Funny how everyone claims that they will not do something illegal or allow it to happen in their business, but they don't want you to be able to see them.

Ahhh good old CHI. Money talks, Stroger hires all his friends while cutting hospital staff, and dead people vote. In the words of Pink Floyd "Welcome my son, welcome to the machine." Chicago is an amazing city, I lived there for 7 years. But IL as a state is corrupt to the core.

Whoops, I apologize. I really don't want to get political with this. Just saying it's hard to butt heads with a culture of corruption. Money talks and bull@#$% walks, same circus different clowns. I must say that the downtown clubs in Chicago are a joke, full of tourists and trouble.

Corruption runs wild,County,City.
On the front page of tomorrow's Trib(on the presses now).
Mayor's buddy buys land ten years ago.City decides to buy it for a park at an incredible markup.
Ahh Yess timing is everything!

Corruption runs the world round. If I ever find a place that has no corruption, I will let you know. Till then it is what it is. One of my favorite things in my town is that they fired 8 cops to save money (after our deposed mayor and his cronies were "missing" a couple of million). The crime rate increased and they blamed the fact that a lot more immigrants (legal so let's not go on that rant) are reporting crimes. Then the hire 3 cops (brand new, no experience) and brag about how committed they are to keeping our town safe. Bravo, ladies and gentlemen, bravo! I am looking forward to the encore. Perhaps we can just reclassify crimes so that they seem less violent.
