My wife and I moved into a bad neighborhood with a problem bar on the corner. Took us 2 years of trying (mostly praying) before the owner sold it. That was our best chance. The new owner was trying to turn it into a cash and carry place (40 oz. beers for under 2 bucks!). We rallied the neighborhood and went to every town council meeting. Pathetic. They would tell neighborhoods for every problem that they would look into it, etc. etc., then would not do anything. With us, they said they would have a closed door meeting the next time and then announce their decision after telling everyone how much they agree with us. Guess what. It passed. At that point we pulled out our big guns. They had multiple issues that violated the Pennsylvania Liqour Control Board's policies. The council passed an illegal floor plan. We hired an attorney and long story shorter before it ended we had a personal lawsuit and the city had a lawsuit against the owner. He decided to move because it was going to take too long. Took us three years and definitely reiterated to us that money speaks to politicians. Everyone of them who was seeking reelection within my district lost- I made sure of it. Doubt the new people are any better though. Nice to be able to sit on my front porch without drunks, drug addicts and prostitutes walking around. Good luck in the fight, keep praying and harass the owner. Double check local liquor laws. We got them on the amount of required seating. He was 2 seats off. Also, call the cops anytime there is a problem. While they never gave me the number, supposedly if the cops got called so many times a year they would label it a nuissance bar and tougher restrictions would be put in place.
