$2.39 … small town Exxon …
Never phased me … and we have gone through several since then - want to cover the Ford Pinto again ?Until a little cold weather bricks the independent electric grid that Texas is so proud of.
Daughter sent a pic of $2.09 gas in Tennessee last week. $2.99 for regular here.
Yes,In Mid Tenn. Kroger Reg. was 2.17 .I had fuel points and got 35 Gals. for .77 a Gallon ! Oh Yea !Daughter sent a pic of $2.09 gas in Tennessee last week
Alabama roads are great, but we don’t pay for much of that with gas tax. It’s the Ad Valorem we get smacked with annually that does the heavy lifting, but man does it suck paying over $1k annually when I register my vehicles.Sneaky state and federal gasoline taxes keep it high. Especially California, PA, Michigan and others. They are constantly raising them and the roads never get better. I think the turnpikes in PA are nice, but you have to pay tolls.
The price of gas has gone up and down by 20 to 30 cents a gallon every few days since I came here…the locals don’t seem to notice (when I’ve asked why) so its probably not something new.I drove from NY to Myrtle Beach SC on Sunday (December 21st) and the Exxon station on Route 17 was $2.289 a gallon….the next morning it was $2.599 a gallon…a 31 cents a gallon jump overnight? Other stations had similar jumps but Murphy’s (Walmart) stayed at $2.28 so I filled up there despite it not being TT. I noticed these large up and down price swings the last time I was here last summer. I wonder why this seems to be the norm here?
Beautiful State, Tennessee. I live in Michigan, which is fast becoming California. Not a business, energy-friendly environment here. They put all kinds of ideological strings on everything, nat gas, electricity prices rising. It's a bizarre state.Until a little cold weather bricks the independent electric grid that Texas is so proud of.

I think West Virginia does that too. You buy your car, but then it's like you have to pay a penalty every year for buying it once.Alabama roads are great, but we don’t pay for much of that with gas tax. Yep! I bought my Navigator for $15,500 OTD with 139,000mi on it. The “system” they use for Ad Valorem doesn’t even account for vehicle condition or mileage (I’m assuming it’s a running average) and they assessed its value (and charged me accordinglyI think West Virginia does that too. My last fill was $2.14Gas prices are down about 50 cents a gallon in new Mexico from a month ago and I got gas in Plainview Texas for $2.14 last weekend, like 2 days ago.
The Wawa on VA Beach Blvd near Harris Teeter almost went below $1/gal around 2009 when I lived there. I was hoping it would just so I could take a pic for posterity sake, lol. They are way down in Virginia Beach - about 50 cents a gallon. I’ve seen $2.49 a gallon recently.
Too much mathI got gas in Niagara Falls Ontario on Saturday night for $1.059 per liter. That converts to $2.88 US per gallon. Not too shabby. In my neighborhood this morning most stations are around $1.279 per liter, which equals $3.49 US per gallon. Gas is always significantly less in the Niagara region so I almost always buy it
