Why does Techron advise to limit the number of applications during motor oil change intervals ?Does Techron get into the motor oil? Or does free deposits?
It likely does both if a small amount makes it past the pistons …Why does Techron advise to limit the number of applications during motor oil change intervals ?Does Techron get into the motor oil? Or does free deposits?

https://www.chevronlubricants.com/en_us/home/learning/about-our-brands/techron/faqs.htmlWhere is this? I remember maybe over a decade ago, they claimed that it was best to wait just before an oil change. They claimed it "depleted motor oil additives" to some degree. But I haven't heard of that being claimed recently.

"Chevron offers a variety of Techron® products based on application. Please refer to the Techron® Product Comparison Chart for each Techron® product’s use frequency. For example, our Techron Complete Fuel System Cleaner is recommended for use every season (winter, fall, spring, summer) or right before an oil change with no more than two treatments between oil changes."
It’s good but harsh stuff. I only use it once year. Pour it in, fill it up, Run it until the fill light comes on and then change the oil and filter.
Really....Too much PEA usage will begin forming its own engine deposits (which you don’t want).

harsh stuff? where did that come from? It’s good but harsh stuff. I only use it once year. Pour it in, fill it up, Run it until the fill light comes on and then change the oil and filter.
Not sure about this either. Lower doses are in every tankful of chevron fuel.Too much PEA usage will begin forming its own engine deposits (which you don’t want).
Chevron did a study on this in 2020. PEA promotes sludge, and especially varnish.Really....

Perhaps the last tank before an oil change sounds better nowChevron did a study on this in 2020. PEA promotes sludge, and especially varnish.

So butylene oxide-based PEA is good and propylene oxide-based PEA is bad? Did Chevron pay for that study? I assume they are using the butylene oxide-based PEA if they wrote the check.Chevron did a study on this in 2020. PEA promotes sludge, and especially varnish.
