Why does CNN.com skip so much news now?

Did they advertise for the most annoying person possible? Chris Matthews has Hardball ..she's got mashed or squished in her mindset.

I often wondered if it was a treatable condition that she never sought help for from a professional.

I've never seen these people. I just started this thread about webnews. NOT TV. [censored] that woman is UGLY.

Oh well, when do you guys have so much time to watch TV? I mean I will watch some sports while kitting parts, making chain breakers, bagging cables and such, but jeeze, just to sit and watch the TV, I can't do it, nor hardly imagine it. Although I do watch LOST on the PC once a week, that's really bad of me. (last season starts in January)

Americans watch WAY too much TV. It's a bad habit, and I gave it up. The only day I ever watch TV is Sunday, for football.

The "news" networks are anything but. It's all sensationalist tabloid garbage. And the way it's presented is like nails on a chalkboard, even if you have the volume turned down they ALWAYS HAVE THE LOUDNESS LEVEL AMPLIFIED TO 10 SO IT'S ALWAYS ANNOYING AND IN YOUR FACE.

I get all my news from reading. Newspapers and sites like BBC.com
I hate "talking heads". If the article is ridiculous or obviously biased, you turn the page.

Well, I have seen the she devil imaged above ..but only in flipping past ..after a brief pause to figure out that there was little purpose to her.

Most don't have a grueling day of posting at the office and don't arrive home fully decompressed

WOW. Sheeple much? Wake up partner, the "networks" you just listed are some of the most biased cr*p in the world. Toss in Global, and you're all set. Those four combined are so far off into the left-spectrum of the deep end, I can't ever fathom a successful recovery. It ain't Rick Mercer and Rex Murphy that can recover all of our canadian media.

Want proof? CBC ran a piece about the "horrors" of the canadian long-gun registry being dismantled. They aired a short clip of an illegal weapons seizure of handguns and an AR15 - Can you possibly explain to me how illegal, restricted-class guns have anything to do with the dismantling of the non-restricted class (a.k.a. long gun) registry? Of course, it was all about shock factor, featuring grandpa with his old duck gun wouldn't have the same "wow" factor.

TVO featured a "discussion night" on the same registry. Interesting how all the "experts" agreed it should stay.

Or what about CTV? They featured a segment giving pity to a teenager for stealing a fully-automatic rifle out of the back of a police car, while blatantly giving in to his "I was scared and didn't know what to do with it" segments of [censored]. Uh, kid, how about not touching it in the first place?

Anyone an expert in anything will realize how poorly the news does. Workmate, ex-Army, noted a talking head botch the difference between the Medal of Honor and Medal of Freedom. They get reading the teleprompter and fill-in-the-words. Screw something up and keep going, and hope that 99% of your viewers miss too.

Watch the closed captions, it often goes off the teleprompter. When the prompter slows down, so does the talking head. One can also see when the heads go "off-script".

Take a Valium and settle down !!
I didn't say we were "perfect", just better.
You aren't surrounded by US broadcasters so you have no idea what I'm talking about.

The same trend, when did MTV stop playing music videos?

I disagree.

You are showing YOUR bias. They ALL have problems. Some more than others (ie MSNBC is real bad)

But the big thing FOX does with their programming is tell you up front that they ARE biased one way.

The others pretend to be un-biased. But are FAR from it. So they are the ones towing the line.

Fox is no better than any of the others, still Kool-ade, just a different flavor.
We do need a news source that just says : "Here's what happened" and not put any spin on it. They might also try not using footage from one event and passing it off as being from another.

Have you tried livestation? They carry a number of international news channels:
http://www.livestation.com/

Tvlizer.com also used to carry a lot of foreign news channels as well.

Seems to me , that if a person doesn't like their news with one particlar slant, they're free to watch the other one that is more suitable to their own opinion.
I'm always amused that so many Fox fans seem to worry so much about CNN or MSNBC (and the other way around too, just watch or read what you like, but don't believe much of any of it.

Right now, or any given moment.

At a given moment, not too far from now, Rupert reckons that everyone will have to pay for his flavour koolaid.
