I have actually thrown oil away to reduce my stash so I can go and buy more. Talk about sick in the head.

I hope you recycled the new oil vs just tossing it in the trash.

Somebody has issues.

I'm thinking it's worthwhile to change brands every few changes. Preaching to the choir here at BITOG I know, since you guys customarily never use the same brand of oil twice.

The reason would be that you get the benefit of the detergent pack of the different oil. The different oil has a chance to dissolve the stuff you favorite brand doesn't get so well. And vice versa of course.

I've gotten excellent used oil analysis from the Motorcraft oil I've used all these years. When I changed brands the oil got dark a little faster. I suspect that's what happened.

Yikes. Yeah that's not healthy.

I imagine you could have easily bought some Schaeffer with the $ spent on the throwaway oil...
