although some restaurants make some tasty foods you can be sure they are UNHEALYHY + made with the cheepest possible ingredients for the most profits!!! just a fact of life that eating out is some of the unhealthiest foods that sometimes tastes good!!

My favorite Waffle House memory is this one time, my wife and kids and I drove through the night to get to Florida. We stopped at a WH in Georgia at like 4:30 am. The place was a little busy and the only booth in the place that would have held all of us had a couple in it that looked like they just left a bar. We lined up at the counter.
I watched the booth out of the corner of my eye in case they left, I could nab it.
The guy leaned in and whispered something to the woman and she grabbed that big sugar shaker and bounced it off his head and then it went right through the plate glass window. I was like no way that just happened.
‘No one in the place flinched except my family. The waitress taped off the booth and went about her business. We finished breakfast at the counter.
‘My sixteen year old son was three at the time and every once in a while he’ll say to me do you remember that time we were eating and that girl smashed the window?

I always thought the key to a good potatoes is to soak/rinse them in cold water to remove the starch. I love potatoes wrapped in tin foil on the grill with avocado oil and seasoning. After I slice them with my mandolin (important that they are all the same thickness) I rinse them with cold water until the water runs clear, this also keeps them from burning in the tin foil.

Took my oldest Grandson to his first ever Waffle House , in Ft Collins CO the Sunday before Memorial Day. He had cheesy scrambled eggs and apple juice, and a waffle for breakfast dessert.

He enjoyed it, but missed out on the cast of characters of Americana that go to a Waffle House on a holiday weekend. You name it, they came in and out the door. From truckers to people in pajamas. My Grandson sang Happy Birthday to our Server, who was working on her birthday. Next stop that morning was a tour of the local Tractor Supply.

We don’t have any WH particularly close, but I do enjoy stopping there for breakfast when opportunity arises. I do like their hash browns, though I’m sure they’re quite filled with too much oil and salt and butter. The best ones I can make at home are reliant on a decent amount of oil and salt to get them to come out right. No doubt WH does the same…

UNFORESEEN BENEFIT: While reading this thread I unwittingly conducted a "Drool Resistance Test" on my keyboard.

To GON: "...My Grandson sang Happy Birthday to our Server, who was working on her birthday. Next stop that morning was a tour of the local Tractor Supply." You, sir, know how to enjoy life!

Kira, that's so very nice to say. Full disclosure, I was far from being a best Dad, I worked and was out of the country for much of my three children's' lives. Being a Grandpa gives me a do-over. My Daughter is thrilled with my investment in her kids.
