Why are Chinese (Torch) spark plugs so bad?

I used the Torch plug the first time I ran in several generators.

When I store the unit I remove the plug add some oil and pull the cord a few times -

Then I install an NGK plug - I keep the Torch as a back up to the back up to the spare NGK I usually have on hand.

I have not had a Torch fail from the start - but I would never buy a new one when other choices are better and only a couple $.

My circa 2008 MTD mower with some sort of Powermore engine that came with a torch. Very surprising that I never changed that plug. By 2010 I had knocked the airfilter box off so many times that I gave up and it was lost in a move so she sucks in what she sucks in. The deck is rotting, a wheel or two are busted but she keeps running. I don't think this mower is worth enough to buy a new plug for so when she dies, she dies.

Both Predators I have start and run fine on their Torches. One is a 6 hp/2 12 CC. other is the larger 10 hp in a 6500watt gen set. I figure i can rob one if need be. What is the righteous NGK plug? I may have a few around

NGK BPR6ES is what I use.

I've done a lot of Predator 212cc repowers on snowblowers, and had a few come back initially with a no-start, and the Torch plug was bad. This was a few years ago now when the Predators first came out, but I've been putting an NGK into any Predator re-power I do now, and haven't had a come back.

Power went out the other day, so I pulled out the Predator 5500/6500 Generator that's been in storage for the past two years. Tried to start it and nothing... Pulled the original plug and tried to spark test it, also noting. Great timing for this thread. Looking for a replacement as I type, thanks for the reminder!

Got my NGK plugs in. Went with the NGK BP6ES. Generator fired on the first pull (y).

ran a cub cadet snow thrower on a torch plug for a couple years then switched over to NGK. Second time I came across one I replaced it immediately.
