"I think Syntec 5w-30 is 9.XX cst, give that a shot."

From the Syntec web site, 5w-20 is 9.0, 5w-30 is 9.7

Makes you wonder, how can you figure out, for general use, which 5w-20 is best, and which might be the best value?

2002 Chevy Suburban 5.3L - 82,000 miles
Have been using RL 5w-20 for the last 20,000 miles. Switched to Motorcraft 5w-20 at 80,000 and plan to run the Motorcraft this winter. I'll change back to RL 5w-20 in the spring.

2006 Mazda 6i

Dumped factory fill at 1100mi, replaced with OE filter and Motorcraft 5w-20. I figure that or Havoline 5w-20 at 5k intervals will work well with the 2.3.

2001 2.2L toyota camry.
Fuchs Titan GT1 0w-20 have been using for the last 10000kms.
New car 2007 Honda accord V6 200kms so far.

My 2006 Toyota Matrix, OC at 4970M, put in MC 5w20

Once I knew about the TSB recommending it for some 2006 and newer toyotas.

How do you like your V6 so far? I've also got an 07 Accord V6 and put a lot of miles on it...in 2.5 months, it's got over 6000 miles (10K km).

BTW, I'm using MC 5W-20 in it so far, along with MC 5W-20 in my 2007 Ford Escape 2.3L. But after reading Dr. Haas's articles, I'm considering switching to PP 5W-20.

Have been using 5W-20 since new. I have no issues with it. I had used it before in a 2000 Focus. It will give you a slight increase in fuel mileage. I am doing 5K OCI's with either a Honda Filtech filter, or a Purolator PP. My oil use has been near zero except when I had bulk 5w-20 Kendall GT-1 Semi Syn in it. After 5K the oil is dirty but not black and still has a golden hue.

If thats what they recommend then use it with confidence. It seems that 5W20's are pretty stout although i wouldnt use it in my truck.

2001 Honda Accord 2.3L I4 using Pennzoil Plat 5W20 or Havoline 5W20. 78,000 miles.

2005 Honda Accord 2.4L I4 using Mobil 1 5W20 or Havoline 5W20. 21,000 miles.

05 Corolla. Redline 5W20. Changed to it at 43,000km. Weather in the Toronto area can reach -40F for very short periods of time. My driving style

can be considered spirited at times. So far I love this stuff.

Thinking about it for the Accent the next time around, they use it in the current one with the same engine so other then tweaks to the engine's design to improve fuel economy they are pretty much the same.

A few hours north of Toronto maybe but certainly not anywhere within the GTA. In my (almost) 37 years of living here, I have never ever ever seen it get below -25C here. Even that's super rare.

Well to be most accurate, weh I live in Aurora just south of Newmarket I recorder a temperature in the morning going ot work of -39.2C That's some close. Within the last couple of years out in Pickering I've seen it hit -37C. Granted this is outside of the Toronto City area.

As you probably already know, Toronto has a vastly different climate than it's surrounding area. Take today for instance, places just north of Toronto are getting hammered with snow, but here it's just been light flurries and now it's turned to rain. So we don't get as much snow in Toronto, or anywhere near as cold.
