1999 Subaru Forester L; @19,750 when I did the service; low mileage & garage kept, but 7 year old fluid worried me a bit
when I changed mine, the green OEM was not cloudy or discolored; I flushed 4 times with @ 1 gallon water each time and had very little green color left;
I installed 50/50 (generic packaged Prestone yellow) and ran it a few days; the tester showed it to be weak (guess there was some flush water left in the block) so I sucked some coolant out of the radiator every day for a week with the tester and topped off with full strength;
after 5 times of doing this the tester showed -34/+265; I've been running it for about a month like this and haven't seen any indications of problems
did I flush enough to eliminate problem of interaction with additives of different formulations?
