VA gets all my refunds. I get a 625 refund this year so I raised my deductions so they take less out and will mail my return around April 15th!

Ken

I can now say I am officially sucking on the public teet. Since my wife is no longer working, I'm getting more back in my refund than what I paid in Federal Tax.

I wait until April to file my taxes. I just got a statement two days ago from my wife's college for the tuition that she paid in 8/08.

I don't have a problem with folks getting Gov. help because of economic conditions not being their fault. Like Miller. I'm sure they paid into the system that is designed to help out. What chaps my arshe are the ones, my stupid arshe brother in law included, that take advantage of the system.

How about sending an IOU to the IRS this year?

Did the math on the computer, haven't sent in yet... and they are freaking crazy about me putting money into the stock market. Form 8880(?) credit.. a CREDIT... for tossing some change into my IRA, in addition to writing it off my gross.

By the time I qualify for a piece of good luck, so does everyone else! If you have tax software crunch the numbers for gambling on the market thru your retirement, this may be the year for you youngsters to start!

Don't want a state like Cali to not give you back what's rightfully yours, after all!

My buddy in CA is getting an IOU, with estimated refund *maybe* in May or June. Another friend is a public school teacher, and for the second year in a row it is being discussed NOT paying him for several months because there is no money in CA...try telling that to his mortgage company!

We were supposed to get $2600 back federal, but the IRS wants to "wait a bit" (so the lady on the phone says) to send the refund check...you have GOT to be kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tiny tiny refund from Uncle Sugar, microscopic from Aunt Loozyana. Taken together they're just enough to cover the car's window tinting, or having my vintage watch serviced.

And I'm sending it in as soon as I can; I'm not holding off for a while. If I owed and held off paying past April 15, they'd come after me with a whip. They can pay me what they owe me, now.

Getting $2700 back this year from Fed and MO. Mis-figured (didn't know) that the points paid by the builder for my mortgage are deductible by us (we just have to adjust the cost basis of the home)

So that accounts for not owing Uncle Sam like I try to do each year. The $9xx back from MO is typical and much will likely go to IL as we sold some stock early in the year for the home purchase and have to pay Long Term capital gains. Of course that assumes MO actually has the money to pay a refund. If they delay, I'll just change our withholding :)

Definitely E-file and get direct deposit if you guys have a refund.

Cripes, if the Feds start doing what Cali and Kansas are doing, work out that withholding so you owe a little for your 1040!

If the Fed Govt starts issuing IOU's, I rather not pay taxes every paycheck, then just pay it all at the end of every year. Just to insure I don't get any of that I.O.U refund junk.

For the last week, whenever I check my refund status on my state's website, it simply says "Your refund has been approved and will be issued in the due course of business."

What a load of malarkey!

Sounds remarkably like, "You already are a Winner! Open to see how to claim your prize!"
