That means it'll be hung up in the postal system for 3 more weeks.

Did it last night with Ufile. The program is a bit dopey, but Quicktax has priced their products out of my market. Netfile (Canada) usually takes 2 weeks.

I did my taxes with Turbo Tax last Sunday and e-filed them late in the afternoon.

Checked my account this morning and the money is there - 5 business days!

A huge amount back as I got laid-off, got 17 months pay (Taxed at the high supplemental rate) & worked a couple jobs!

I'm just an old dinosaur with paper and pencil. Getting $1800 back from the Fed but owe the state of Indiana and the county I live in $300. Have had the state deduction raised every year for the last 3 years, and the state or county come up with tax increases every year, so I just can't get enough taken out to get even. Retired, and don't get in a hurry for anything. Mine are ready to go, but won't be mailed until April 14th. Wife thinks I'm crazy, but I always say you'll probably need the money worse down the road than you need it now. Besides, maybe it's just my way of helping the government out a little bit, and God knows they need all the help they can get!

I'm a procrastinator. I haven't did my taxes yet.. I'm waiting for the last minute bargains from turbotax.

That's what I expected too, but I got both the Fed and state checks in the mail on Saturday. I've already spent most of my refunds on vet visits for Miss Tatiana the Siberian cat, so it's not like "Wow! What can I use this for?"

Nice to get a refund... last year we overpaid and got a fat one. Changed our withholding, but salaries also changed, and now we owe a fat one.

Next year we should get it right...

Since I owe, I want to get a 0% loan :) so Ill be waiting until the 13th or 14th to pay and file.

Just be careful. Owe too much and it gets expensive. You may also be forced into with holding on interest and dividends.
