I also talked to people outside of our circle whom have had decent success with there KR-21's...meaning, greater than 50K miles. But, these folks didn't say at what 32nds the tread was down to at the time of replacement.

Living here in Western NY State, folks that I know(in our circle) like to replace tires for the winter time at around, 3-4/32nds I have noticed. Sure there are people who drive tires til they're bald but, they also slide through intersections. I like to replace tires at'round 3-4/32nds myself, as I don't use dedicated winter tires.

And I feel that with most tires that I've owned,(from a longevity stand point), I've done well enough not to try and claim a "Pro-Rated Warranty" on the tires and am usually past the PR Warranty time frame anyway.

Hankook Mileage Plus II H725

I have these on two of my cars put them on this past Fall, a 02 chevy prizm and a 97 geo prizm, both handle well, look good, inexpensive, very good in snow, and a 80,000 warranty...what's not to like??

Still on them. Did my snow tire to All Seasons changeover today so here is a couple of photos of them.

I have a little under 110k on them. I'd buy another set without question. (They are $78 now. Glad there is no inflation)

Your Pirelli P4 with 110k miles has more tread left than the tires on my E430 with 25k miles. The rear tires of my S2000 is bald, less than 1/32', after 15-16k miles.

Is it the concrete highway with rain groves eats tires much more than the smooth asphalt ?

a combo of that and the actual cars they are mounted on.

and bill's result isnt typical..

I drive a lot on grooved Concrete and solid concrete. I think a lot of my mileage is a few things;

1. Light vehicle plus most of the time one person max
2. Over pressure by 3-5 lbs over recommended
3. Highway operation where pressures are stable
4. I drive pretty easy on acceleration. Always going for the MPG. Same for decel.

I hope that these make it to next winter then I'll decide what to do for next spring. By then the car will have well over 325,000 miles and I'll have to see what/where I go.

Take care, Bill

impressive Bill! Im definitely gona try and hit that mileage on my 07.
if the pirelli p7's look as good as that at 100k miles... awesome!

Wow on both the tires and the car. My '99 Corolla died at 295K, and I've never heard of anyone getting over 100K on a set of tires. They might be worth a try...

I love the General Altimax tires, grippy in all conditions, ride nice, wear well, and affordable.
