Nope. I get name brand synthetic at the dollar store.

If Castrol oils thicken up while in use, and I have an Ecoboost that has fuel dilution issues, that’s a marriage made in heaven...

Dunno.

Consumer resistance like that might do more damage to them than regulatory action, and thus be more likely to keep them on their toes.

The "no such thing as bad publicity" paradigm probably breaks down here.

Can anyone name a oil company that hasn’t done anything bad or damaging? There isn’t one.

Exxon had the Valdez incident and Ashland (Valvoline) had this little thing also.

I recall that Valvoline accident, I attended West Virginia University so it hit close to home. Seems like there was a lack of regulation for those tanks in the 80s.

Valvoline didn't intentionally violate anything...unlike BP, which ignored safety protocols and skipped required testing.
Exxon Valdez was the negligence of one drunk man.

One and 1\5 to be exact...

Only Castrol that I consider are their 0W PAO oils. The rest are average at best imo. I’d choose the valvoline.

That's a bit like trying to prove a negative, but its not hard to name some outstanding screw ups (see above) which was, like, the point.
