Which Mobil 1 Truck and SUV

Last year I switched from Mobil 1 10w30 to the Truck/SUV 5w/40 in my Dodge 1500 4x4 with the 318ci engine. I have noticed that I can no longer find the Truck/SUV 5w/40 but only the Truck/SUV 5w30 and have read on another thread that a Turbo Diesel Mobil 1 5w/40 will be out soon.

I change the oil in this truck on an annual basis since I only drive it 8-9k miles a year and only 1k miles of severe duty pulling a maxxed out trailer. Should I go with the Mobil 1 Truck/SUV 5w30 or go with the soon to be Turbo Diesel 5w/40? Is the new Turbo Diesel Mobil 1 5w/40 any different from last years Truck/SUV 5w/40,
or is it mostly marketing and really doesn't make much difference?

What is your engine spec'd for? If it's 30 wt then I don't see why the Mobil 1 Truck and SUV 5w30 wouldn't work just as well as the 40 wt.

Turbo Diesel 5W-40 is the same formulation as last years Mobil 1 Truck and SUV 5w40.

Should be spec'd for 5w30 if I remember correctly.

Can someone tell me why on the mobil website, the Mobil 1 Truck and SUV 5w30 has ACEA A1 and A5 approvals but on my jug of the Mobil 1 Truck and SUV 5w30, it only states the A1 approval? Any ideas?

I'm a bit baffled as to what the formulation difference really is.

All that the metallic elements seem to reveal is that Mobil 1 Truck and SUV 5w30 with 1600 ppm calcium has less calcium than even the regular Mobil 1 5w30.

All the additives look low for the Mobil 1 Truck and SUV 5w30. This leads me to first suspect BL calibrations.

Even though the owners manual calls for 10w30 ,is the new Turbo Diesel Truck Mobil 1 5w-40 a better choice than Regular Mobil 1 10w30 in my gas V8 ?
